In Falsus Perfect Dive Guide

JUDGEMENTS // LINK // RANKS

What separates a clear from a perfect run: the four judgement tiers and what they do to your score, LINK and MSS HP, the EARLY/LATE timing indicator, the banners that end a dive, and a full read of the result screen — every claim backed by a frame of real gameplay.

TL;DR

  • Four judgement tiers: EXACT (with a critical EXACT sub-tier counted separately on the result screen), NEAR, and BREAK. BREAK is the only true miss.
  • NEAR hits flash an EARLY or LATE prefix — if yours consistently lean one way, adjust Audio Offset in OPTIONS before grinding.
  • BREAKs cost MSS HP and reset your LINK streak; if the HP bar bottoms out mid-song, the dive fails on the spot.
  • Ranks track accuracy: cutting NEARs and BREAKs is what moves you from A toward AA and beyond.

The four judgement tiers

EXACT // NEAR // BREAK

Every note you hit earns one judgement, flashed in text right on the judgement line. The result screen counts four rows — EXACT (critical), EXACT, NEAR and BREAK — and together they decide your score, your rank and whether you survive at all.

  1. 1

    EXACT hits feed the fight

Clean hits flash EXACT in white above the judgement line — and every one converts into gold damage numbers for your side of the Encounter (1,400 a pop in this Ordirehv Phase 5). Accuracy isn't cosmetic in In Falsus; it is literally your offense.

    Judgements stack on dense charts

On harder charts like à la mode ULT 9, several judgement popups can hang on screen at once — one per recently hit note. Read them peripherally; the moment you chase the text instead of the lanes, the next note is already on you.

NEAR tells you which way you're off

A NEAR hit lands with an EARLY or LATE prefix — this frame shows EARLY NEAR. That prefix is diagnostic gold: a run of EARLYs means you're ahead of the beat, LATEs mean you're behind. If the bias is consistent, fix it with Audio Offset in OPTIONS rather than retraining your hands.

    BREAK is the true miss

BREAK flashes red, costs you MSS HP and resets your LINK streak — three of them stacking on this à la mode ULT run is how a dive starts to die. One BREAK is recoverable; a burst of them in a hard section is what ends runs.

The four banners that end a dive

CLEARED // CONNECTED // FAILED
  1. 6

DIVE CLEARED: the song is yours

Reach the end of the chart with your MSS HP at 10 or above and the run ends in a cyan DIVE CLEARED banner. This is the first of two gates — the song is beaten, but the Encounter still has to be won.

Finish with MSS HP at 10 or above and the song is cleared. · Footage: justonegamr
  2. 7

    CONNECTED: the Encounter is won

Right after the clear, the purple CONNECTED banner confirms the Encounter result — your cards and your accuracy beat the opponent across all five Phases. DIVE CLEARED plus CONNECTED is what counts as a full clear and unlocks the next difficulty tier.

CONNECTED means the Encounter itself was won — the full clear. · Footage: justonegamr
  3. 8

DIVE FAILED: the run ends early

If your MSS HP bar bottoms out mid-song, the red DIVE FAILED banner drops on the spot and the score freezes where it stands. Note the left-side bar in this frame: deep negative. That's what a terminal BREAK streak looks like from the inside.

  4. 9

CONNECT FAILED follows a failed dive

A failed dive means a lost Encounter — CONNECT FAILED lands right after. No Iota, no unlock progress, but your score still posts and the breakdown tells you exactly where it fell apart. Retry is one click away.

Reading the result screen

JUDGEMENT ROWS // RANK // OVERLAY
  1. 10

Read every row of the result

The result screen is your coaching report: MAX LINK (171 here), the four judgement rows — EXACT (critical) 386, EXACT 46, NEAR 45, BREAK 5 — with 'Click any judgment for full breakdown' for per-row detail, your rank letter, and the MISS HP you finished on (13). The DIVE OVERLAY toggle below replays the per-side rates you saw during play. Compare runs row by row: that's how you see a perfect run getting closer.

FAQ

SCORING QUESTIONS

What are the judgement tiers in In Falsus?

Four rows appear on the result screen: EXACT (critical), EXACT, NEAR and BREAK. NEAR hits flash an EARLY or LATE prefix in play so you can tell which side of the timing window you're on, and BREAK is the true miss — it costs MSS HP and resets your LINK streak.

What happens when you get a BREAK in In Falsus?

A BREAK costs you MSS HP and sends your LINK streak back to zero. If the HP bar bottoms out mid-song the run ends immediately with DIVE FAILED; otherwise you can rebuild HP with successful hits and still clear by finishing at 10 or above.

How do ranks work in In Falsus?

The result screen awards a letter rank alongside your judgement totals — demo runs show ranks like A and AA. Comparing runs, higher ranks come with more EXACT-tier hits and fewer NEARs and BREAKs, so cutting BREAKs is the fastest way to climb.

What is MAX LINK in In Falsus?

MAX LINK is the longest streak of consecutive notes you hit without a BREAK. Your current streak floats on the track during play, and the best run of it is recorded as MAX LINK on the result screen.

How do I get a perfect run in In Falsus?

Play for survival first, accuracy second: stabilize so BREAKs stop draining your MSS HP, then use the EARLY/LATE prefixes to find your timing bias — a consistent lean means your Audio Offset is off. Once NEARs shrink, EXACTs pile up and the rank follows.
