How Long Is In Falsus? Main Story Length

In Falsus main story length, measured: a no-commentary full playthrough runs about 4.5 hours over two sessions — plus what stretches the runtime.

How long is In Falsus? Three days after lowiro launched the game on Steam (September 9, 2026), the honest answer is: plan for at least around 4.5 hours of play for the main story — that is the length of the single best documented playthrough available, and it does not even reach the end.

Below is what that number is based on, what pushes it up or down, and why completion means far more than finishing the story. For orientation on the systems the story throws at you, our beginner guide and walkthrough cover the groundwork.

The evidence: one no-commentary playthrough, two sessions, 4h23m

The clearest public datapoint right now is a two-part no-commentary main story playthrough by the YouTube channel Spectral, recorded on the launch build:

| Session | Runtime | | ---------------------------------- | ------- | | Part 1 — Main Story Playthrough | 2:11:31 | | Part 2 — Main Story Playthrough | 2:11:39 | | Total documented playtime | 4:23:10 |

Two things make this usable as evidence rather than anecdote. First, the player commits: the run opens with the game's own opening choice, and Prioritize Scenario is the natural pick for a story-focused pass.

Second, the sessions are long and continuous — two sessions of over two hours each — and the second one ends mid-story, without credits. So 4h23m is a floor, not a complete count: at this pace the main story takes longer than one sitting, and probably longer than two.

What the playthrough actually spends its time on

Watching both sessions end to end, the composition is striking for a rhythm game: well over 90% of the documented runtime is fully voiced story scenes and menus, not gameplay. Part 1 runs 131 minutes and contains roughly 10 minutes of rhythm encounters in total; the roughly 70 minutes after the tutorial are wall-to-wall dialogue.

The run itself passes through the screens every player will see. Right at the start of Part 2, the game sits on its main menu — Music Play, Scenario, Crafting — before diving back into the story:

The Scenario board is where story progress is tracked, chapter by chapter — here showing the opening chapter, The First Lie:

The one rhythm encounter in the opening hour is the tutorial. It starts like any song select — here is Albedo void (Mournfinale) on EVOLVED:

The tutorial then teaches lane movement mid-song — the kind of prompt you will pause on the first time you see it:

And each encounter plays out with the full battle HUD — score, combo, judgments, deck cards and an HP bar on both sides:

What moves your own count up or down

Reading pace dominates. Because story scenes carry the runtime, a player who reads quickly at the cost of missing voice lines, or one who leaves the game running while away, will land far from 4h23m. The documented run reads at a natural, unhurried pace with no skipping.

Encounters are short but wrapped in menus. Before each battle you assemble a deck on the CONNECT/REFLECT loadout screens, where your cards set Total Power and Total Defense:

And after certain encounters the game offers Assist Mode — an accessibility switch that disables Card Crafting, Encounter gameplay and Character progression entirely. A player who turns it on would experience a very different (and largely undocumented) time budget:

Difficulty choices matter at the margins. Chart levels run 1–11 across the MIN/EVO/ULT/FBD tiers, and a story encounter ends early if your HP hits zero — so retries on ambitious picks add time. The documented run mostly plays moderate levels, though late in Part 2 it does line up a level-10 FBD chart:

Clearing story encounters also unlocks standalone songs — a small preview of the wider song list waiting outside the story:

"Beating it" versus completing it

The main story is only the front door. The launch build ships 70 songs, each with multiple charts across four difficulty tiers — our song guides and achievements guide (25 Steam achievements) map that surface. Add card crafting and the scenario's later arcs — the community wiki lists Arc 1: The First Lie, then Arc 2 and Arc 2.5 — and the completionist count will dwarf the story estimate. If you want the story beats without pace spoilers first, the spoiler-free story walkthrough lays out the Arc 1 flow, and our patch notes coverage tracks content additions that will keep moving these targets.

HowLongToBeat has no In Falsus entry (yet)

As of September 12, 2026, HowLongToBeat has no entry for In Falsus — no main story average, no completionist poll, nothing. That makes the two-part playthrough cited here the first citable datapoint we are aware of. When an HLTB entry does appear, treat small early samples with the same skepticism: check what pace the submitters played at before comparing it to your own clock.
